Khloe Kardashian recently discussed her relationship with her ex, Tristan Thompson, who many believe had an affair with Kardashian's younger sister's best friend, Jordyn Woods. After everything that has happened between the couple, it's easy to wonder: "How is Kardashian able to still call her ex a great person?"
Tristan Thompson has a history of cheating
The latest scandal involving Jordyn may have been the straw that broke the camel's back, but it was not the first time that Tristan had been caught cheating. Early in their relationship, while Khloe was still pregnant with the couple's daughter, Tristan was spotted getting a little too cozy with multiple women at a dance club.
Surveillance videos caught the basketball player touching and making out with these women. Tristan was later found to be doing the same thing at another club. Despite his indiscretions, the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star chose to stand by her man.
But earlier this year, rumors began to spread that Tristan was unfaithful again. This time it was with Kylie's best friend. The two were seen getting close at a party and were reportedly seen making out. Rumors went as far as to say that the two had slept together.
Regardless of the extent of the affair, this betrayal hit too close to home. In March, the couple announced that they would be going their separate ways.
Khloe Kardashian says the feelings are still raw
It has only been a few months since Khloe and Tristan split, so naturally, the emotions are still there. She admits that the feelings can be heightened at times, but she shares a one-year-old daughter with her ex, so she tries to be strong for her. "True is one and, like, a month old — so she doesn't really know what's happening, but to me she does know and she feels energy and I'm a big believer of that," she said. "I do everything in my power to not put just any sort of heavy energy around her."
Khloe Kardashian still calls Tristan Thompson a "great person"
For some, it can be hard to imagine calling your ex a "great person," but for Khloe, she says that it's not about her. The couple's daughter, True, recently celebrated her first birthday. In typical Kardashian style, the party was extravagant and featured lots of balloons and even unicorns.
It came as a surprise to many to discover that the two parents both attended the party. Though the feelings are still raw for Khloe, she wanted her child to have the experience. She admits that True won't remember the unicorns or the cake, or even that both her parents were there, but she will have the pictures.
She says that she wants her daughter to be able to look back at the day and have those memories. "Me and my sisters, we will sit on the floor, looking at our old photo albums, talking," she said. "We don't remember. We remember what our parents told us and we act like we know everything about this photo and I want to give her the same thing."
Khloe told Laura Wasser of Divorce Sucks!: "I know her dad is a great person, and I know how much he loves her and cares about her, so I want him to be there." As a child of divorced parents, Khloe knows how important it is for her child to have both parents in her life. At the end of the day, it isn't about the relationship between Khloe and Tristan, it's about True.
